A DREAM UNDER THE SOUTHERN BOUGH
A Dream Under the Southern Bough is a theatrical play exploring Buddhist philosophy and the fleeting cycle of life.
The protagonist dreams of an ant kingdom, living a lifetime in moments—rising in rank, marrying, and waging wars—only to wake and realize it was all an afternoon’s slumber. Back in reality, he finds an ant hole in his yard, its tunnels mirroring his dream. His “ant family” remains, now threatened by an approaching storm, ready to be washed away.
